Love to get you seasoned hackrs feedback on this one. This was my first lease, and only the second new vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Details of the deal are in the title, and I’ve posted in the Signed! with my contract. Here is the breakdown with some of the other numbers / details:

2026 Lyriq Opulent Blue with Sky Cool Gray with Santorini Blue Accents

Courtesy Car with 423 miles

MSRP: $67,418 (AWD, PowerUp Level 2 Wall Charger, Mobile+ 4 years)

Tax rate is 6.5%

Single Payment was $7842 Plus: L&R $150; pre-delivery service charge $998, electronic reg fee $149; FL fees $68.50; Tax on cap cost reduction $227

Rebates: Conquest $2k, Military $500, GM Card Signup $500, and private offer $500: $3500

Total: $13014 - $3500 = $9514 out the door.

I am not going to use the PowerUp Charger. While that sells for $900 on the website, I value it at more like $500 in resale value. For me this means I’m at $9000 effective OTD.

For those that want the full story:

I started this search in December of last year, trying to work a deal for a 2025; however, I found that most dealers were more interested and willing to work the numbers on a 2026. My approach was what everyone here recommends: clear and direct. I didn’t actually find that to work very well with any of the dealers in my region. All of them took my numbers and threw them out, told me the numbers I provided were all wrong, and then worked random other numbers that they couldn’t justify. Therefore, I gave up and just went with here is my one pay out the door number: $8500. The dealers came back with $13600, $10600, $10100, etc. All of them were loaners, and most had between 1700-3200 miles. I rejected all of the offers, and waited until the end of this quarter. As expected, they all reached back out trying to work a deal. I presented them with the same number and one of them was willing to entertain coming down from their previous price. They were also willing to work the deal on any color combination, which wasn’t a factor for me - but hey why not get what you actually want. What was interesting was that nearly all of the Lyriqs came with AWD and a NACS adaptor - except one that came with AWD, GM PowerUp Level II wall charger, and the 4 year Mobile+. It just so happen to be in the color combination that I wanted. Over the course of two days: Dealer started at $10600 and my response was $8500. They magically “found another rebate” and said $10k even. At this stage I had gotten a couple more offers back and all of them were over $10600, and I realized that $8500 wasn’t likely to happen. So I told them I would do $9250 if they included a NACS adaptor, and they came back with $9500 with no adaptor. I then started in on the fact I didn’t need the Mobile+, and didn’t need the PowerUp Charger, so let’s pull that off and make the deal. They wouldn’t budge on what came with the car, and when I asked about the other cars without the Mobile+ and the PowerUp they came back with numbers higher than $9500. I then took their number and shopped it around, but none of the dealers in area were willing to even match it (one said something about the deal I was offered was a $13k loser for them and another tried to tell me the number would be more when I went to pay for it). This was my indicator to take the deal.

I distain car salesmen and realtors. All of their tactics are played out and beyond predictable. While I’m good with where the deal ended up, I’m pretty annoyed at three factors:

Wasn’t able to remove the Mobile+ or the PowerUp charger (that alone would have gotten me to my number or less). Needless to say, the Mobile+ is the biggest waste for this car.

They charged me for registration, despite the fact I’m exempt.

Couldn’t get them to throw in the NACS adaptor. It’s less than $100 to get one on amazon, but it’s more of the principle.
